LAVICA | ANALYSIS | CURRENT STATE: Situated on Boat Avenue in the chic area of BangTao, Phuket, Thailand, this second-floor space in a commercial building was originally a design studio. The 110 sqm space features concrete flooring, two bathrooms, and natural light from the north, south, and east.

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS: The clients requested the conversion of the space into a beauty salon, requiring four treatment cabins, a shower, a bathroom, a waiting room, and storage space, despite its small size.

LAVICA | SOLUTIONS | PROJECT: To meet the client's needs, we extended part of the façade, creating four comfortable and naturally bright treatment cabins. The original concrete flooring was retained where possible, with parquet flooring installed in the corridor and extended areas to emphasize circulation. Elegant points were highlighted with cobblestone paving and real plants at the entrance and in front of the windows.
The false ceiling design incorporated targeted and pleasant lighting with three different ceiling heights: higher in the treatment and waiting areas, lower in corridors and service areas, and a wooden batten ceiling above cobblestone-paved areas. The façade was also redesigned to be elegant and publicly visible.
Materials used were inspired by the Japandi style, featuring a blend of concrete, light wood, dark wood for large sliding doors, and linen colors. The bathroom and shower wall coverings were natural stone, complementing the chosen palette. We also designed the reception unit and cabin modules.
Our post-project consultancy was crucial, ensuring the purchase of small elements like towels, shower tablecloths, soap dispensers, bathrobes, carpets, decorations, and plants—all aligned with the salon’s visual identity. This final touch made the business look neat and professional.
