Actually the ‘giants’ was a method of indicating important people like kings, pharoahs,etc. Less important, women, servants, children, so on, were sculpted smaller to show them less important. How did they recognize constellations? Well, probably since watching the night sky was the only thing that could be watched since there were no electronics and even literacy to read the few books was rare. They were as smart as we are so they would discover things we don’t look at.
