#NewMusic this Friday, July 19th, with the debut of the first of my #ArtivistProductions series. This one is called "CO.CO CO.CO", which is short for #COlonialism #COrruption #CObalt #COngo.

I've been talking and posting a lot in my bid to raise awareness of a truly horrific situation happening in the Eastern side of the #DemocraticRepublicofCongo, in the mining district, but this time I'm putting the information over a danceable-ly infectious #Afrohouse beat I've created to move people on the dancefloor as well as make them think.

I've taken a few soundbites from a few interviews and documentaries about the #cobaltmining in the DRC (the one you hear speaking is #SiddharthKara from a Joe Rogan interview) and placed over original music to help people understand that the actual blood of innocent, physically & sexually abused, unhoused, exploited, and even child labor goes into EVERY one of our smartphones, laptops, pads, watches, electric vehicles, and practically any electronic device with a rechargeable battery.

Just FYI, 100% of the sales of this song I'm donating to #FriendsofCongo (IG: @congofriends); a charity that is a vetted, registered 501c3 non-profit based in DC that I researched and chose to be the recipient. I'll be posting receipts of these donations weekly, for as long as I receive anything from sales of this song, for full transparency, just so you understand I'm not keeping any sales of this track.

There are many other crises, of course, and when I can, I'll make songs for some of them as well. I can't call myself an "artivist" if I don't use my gifts to help those in need, so I'm just gonna do what I can and hope it helps in some significant way.
