In Canada we have to use the plastic bottles as well. But, we can’t use plastic bags or plastic utensils. And, when a bridge needs fixed, the local government allows the contractors to close it for 6 months creating a 4km detour for commuters everyday before starting work. Seems saving the plastic forks to eat with your fingers is forked up.

Hate to break it to you, no, no it won’t get better. It will get significantly worse, and furthermore. Anytime you break down and buy a vehicle that “needs” this. The you reinforce them taking everyone ELSES car away. For example, in California where I currently live, they have begun clean air only zones, fining me for bringing any gasoline vehicle at all, my registration for my classic cars? It’s gone up to 400$. The vehicle is a 1970 mustang. This is ludicrous and extremely detrimental to do ANYTHING other than shame these companies and stop buying products.

Same with a dpf. Using thinner more refined oils in your motor on the guise of "enviroment" only to do a dpf burn and release the crap all ovee the ground amyway.

We've been dealing with this is Europe for years now, it's one extra thing but not that big a deal, as most fuel stations have it on pump. I only have to fill mine up every 10-15k km, so not that bad (hassle-wise and pocket wise).

The problem is when one decides to go overlanding overseas (Central Asia, Africa, S. America) where you can't get a hold of it, as most vehicles equipped with Adblue will refuse to start if the tank is empty (they'll actually let you start X amount of times, depending on the automaker, but after that, forget it until you've filled up). Although in those areas the DPF is an even bigger problem, as low-quality diesel will quickly clog it up....

Bit If you guys only 4-wheel in Australia, it shouldn't be an issue, the vehicle techs to warn you when you're down to ⅓ tank (so you've still got....3k km before you run out?)

Don’t know if it’s saving the environment but it’s just got to be better than a DPF. They are programmed to burn off soot produced by the diesel combustion. In doing this they burn more diesel and eject more CO2.

Lookup the MSDS sheet for DEF. It’s incredibly caustic and when it seeps into other parts of the motor, ruins seals and hoses.

Terrible for the environment. Great for the dealerships who inevitably will replace the system connected to your DEF. 😂

Working on a john deere 650k dozer and it has the stupid diesel exhaust fluid tank right next to what I am working on at the moment. A piece of equipment used to fight fires and it is required to have this stupid garbage on it.

Yup it’s all over now. It’s a whole industry here in North America. Even if it’s not working for the environment it can’t be discontinued because the industry will lose so much money now

Another pile of genius, paper straw in a plastic wrapper, with a plastic lid.

You can’t even pour it without it leaking all over the ground. To save the environment my ass. This is to destroy motors that are supposed to go 1 million miles.

Mines same. I just emailed them so hopefully they send me a solution. Annoying because the hardest part was wiring it through the car

Funny how you see Americans deleting all this pollution gear and they get better fuel mileage?
That itself would be better for the environment wouldn’t it. Then again if your vehicle uses more fuel, governments get more taxes don’t they.

AdBlue freezes at -11'c, and the system failing on so many cars during winter is very costly.

There have been winters where there is a shortage of spare parts by German makers and their cars wont start after 1000km is infuriating.

I wouldnt want to ever buy a Adblue vehicle not because of the system but because its not reliable enough on so many cars and it might cost thousands to fix, unnecessary cost.

It's all BS. "Saves the environment" while having to make another plastic jug and cardboard box to put shit in.

Not convinced, same with dpf.... in my mind it stores all the soot up to a point, then regens and burns it off anyway, so instead of little bit at a time, it's all at once? 🤷‍♂
