Hate to break it to you, no, no it won’t get better. It will get significantly worse, and furthermore. Anytime you break down and buy a vehicle that “needs” this. The you reinforce them taking everyone ELSES car away. For example, in California where I currently live, they have begun clean air only zones, fining me for bringing any gasoline vehicle at all, my registration for my classic cars? It’s gone up to 400$. The vehicle is a 1970 mustang. This is ludicrous and extremely detrimental to do ANYTHING other than shame these companies and stop buying products.

We've been dealing with this is Europe for years now, it's one extra thing but not that big a deal, as most fuel stations have it on pump. I only have to fill mine up every 10-15k km, so not that bad (hassle-wise and pocket wise).
The problem is when one decides to go overlanding overseas (Central Asia, Africa, S. America) where you can't get a hold of it, as most vehicles equipped with Adblue will refuse to start if the tank is empty (they'll actually let you start X amount of times, depending on the automaker, but after that, forget it until you've filled up). Although in those areas the DPF is an even bigger problem, as low-quality diesel will quickly clog it up....
Bit If you guys only 4-wheel in Australia, it shouldn't be an issue, the vehicle techs to warn you when you're down to ⅓ tank (so you've still got....3k km before you run out?)

AdBlue freezes at -11'c, and the system failing on so many cars during winter is very costly.
There have been winters where there is a shortage of spare parts by German makers and their cars wont start after 1000km is infuriating.
I wouldnt want to ever buy a Adblue vehicle not because of the system but because its not reliable enough on so many cars and it might cost thousands to fix, unnecessary cost.

In Canada we have to use the plastic bottles as well. But, we can’t use plastic bags or plastic utensils. And, when a bridge needs fixed, the local government allows the contractors to close it for 6 months creating a 4km detour for commuters everyday before starting work. Seems saving the plastic forks to eat with your fingers is forked up.
