你憧憬在海上工作嗎？每天享受無邊無際的海景，感覺格外寧靜。

昔日葛量洪號滅火輪上的消防員需要 24 小時待命，隨時應付海上和岸邊的火災。即使風平浪靜，消防員亦要「操泵」，練習操控船上設備，嚴格執行「四上五落」守則，即逢星期四清潔上層甲板、逢星期五清潔下層甲板，時刻為葛量洪號滅火輪保持最佳狀態。

葛量洪號滅火輪於 1953 至 2002 年間服役，守護維港近半世紀。為了讓大眾了解「葛量洪號」的歷史使命，香港歷史博物館將其列為藏品，並設置葛量洪號滅火輪展覽館，妥善保存龐大的滅火輪。

切勿錯過展覽館展出的文物，包括滅火輪上的工具、多款消防員制服，還有相關歷史圖片，發掘海上消防員的艱辛工作。

The firefighters aboard the Fireboat Alexander Grantham were on standby 24 hours a day in the past, ready to respond to fires both at sea and along the shore. Besides, they practised operating the ship’s equipment and cleaned the upper and lower decks on every Thursday and Friday.

The Fireboat Alexander Grantham served from 1953 to 2002, safeguarding Victoria Harbour for nearly half a century. To educate the public about its historical mission, the Hong Kong Museum of History has preserved it as part of its collection and established the Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery.

This gallery has enabled citizens to explore the challenging work of maritime firefighters, showcasing artefacts from the fireboat, including tools and various firefighter uniforms, along with relevant historical photographs.
