Sharing our personal pain with other cultures. I really wish more retailers would sell higher quality Japanese and European stationery per norm. We do get a lot of the pens, but I’m wondering if the paper sizing difference (which…does any other country use 8 ½ x 11? Probably not. It’s like the metric system…can we just use what’s easier???) that causes retailers to be less likely to stock things like Kokuyo Campus notebooks or similar, because A4/B5 aren’t quite 8 ½ x 11. Anyway…they’re right, that stupid Pink Pearl eraser does just about everything but actually erase pencil marks…and it smells bad, they’re right!!!

I'd love to see them try out some better quality American brands like Sharpie and Fisher Space pen! (especially trying out the unique features of the space pen)

I think I've had some positive experiences with American-made stationery, but it's usually the stuff that's more closely aligned with hobby/art stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels, or boutiques in tourist towns, rather than the fairly basic products offered at office supply stores.

Japanese stationery is really good. I grew up with German stationery which still comes in second for me. Taiwanese stationery isn't as famous, but very serviceable and decently priced.

Fountain pens have ruined American paper and ballpoint pens for me. I used to love my Tül gel pens tho'.

Ladies, that eraser stunk when I was a kid and all those shavings would stick to my clothes and hands. Life was tough before Japanese Stationery. 😁😂

Calling Spartan composition paper "stationery" is a stretch. Also, those cheap pink erasers are meant to be cheap, not high quality.

Ballpoint pens are horrible. Fountain pens are where it’s at. And yes I prefer Japanese pens the most. German second.
