I started feeding the raccoons that come to clean up the cat food left by my outdoor cat.
I saw that they were to many for the little bit left so I started giving them a bowl full. Well that turned out to now buying 50 lbs bags of dog food for them.
I think that is why they never get into my trash bins. Win-win

I had two pet raccoons when I was in high-school. Loved them so much. We found a Sanctuary to bring them to live out their lives, when I left home for college.

What a beautiful bond you had with your Mandy. I have known that in my life as well. Raccoons are amazing creatures, and so clever. I would still be raising orphans were it not that my Husband is very ill. I have a Mum who lives in my carriage house, and she brings her children to meet me every year. She does get treats on a special rock at the base of my Oak tree.🖤🇨
