I love the way you let him fly reminding him of his youth I'm sure. Thats a wonderful thing your doing. I love bats too we had a fruit bat that lived in one of our trees in the backyard. We were playing frisbee one night in our backyard and all of a sudden this bat comes flying out of a tree grabs the frisbee and sails almost to the ground with it. So of course we through it again and again and he or she made a game of it. Just about every night that summer we played frisbee with it. Are friends would come over to see what they called our pet bat. Was not a pet but it gave us one fun summer...

Adorable and heartbreaking at the same time. It makes me remember my cockatiel who lived to the age of 33 and lost his ability to fly many years before passing away. He did enjoy his "flights" when carried around like that, but it just became more and more obvious that he was living on borrowed time.
I hope Statler will live out his golden years to the fullest!

Awww little sweetie ๐ Our old boy, ex puppy mill mini schnauzer, Rocky Rockstar does something similar when he has his paw wash in the bath after his walk. He does a sort of doggy paddle as I carry him through the living room ๐๐ฆ
