I had actually spent a while trying to find out the year of Mulan when I was younger. My only counter would be that they have fireworks which I don't think were invented until the Song Dynasty.
And I don't think the hanging lanterns in the movie were mentioned in any sources until the 6th century, though of course not being written about isn't the same as not existing.
