This also happened to a guy who wanted a custom plate way back in the day.. can't remember what he wanted it to say but they had a second line to write something else you wanted it to say as a back up in case they couldn't do the first suggestion. He couldn't think of anything to put down as a back up because he wanted the first plate really bad so he wrote down " no plate " thinking that it would just mean the DMV would give him a regular plate. Well he couldn't get the first plate so he got the " no plate " license plate, well anytime someone had a traffic violation i.e. a parking ticket or something and there wasn't a license plate on the car the officer wrote down " no plate ". That was the standard procedure so this guy went through the same thing because he started getting tickets in the mail from all over the state / country and also had to fight it in court and stuff. Now if there's no license plate they write N/A instead of no plate
