Not only is Cher "cute" (understatement of the week, there!) & funny, she's also a super-nice person who Doesn't treat people so badly that their hearts break. That's what's helped to sustain her career for such a long time.

There are lots of talented, narcissistic a-holes in the industry with gorgeous faces & mesmerizing voices. But if someone's personality is too ugly or fake-nice, they'll say & do diva-like things that cost them fans over time. The many decades of Cher's career - with top 10 hits each decade for 60-odd years now - is a testament not only to her amazing vocal skill but also her kind heart, coupled w/ her emotional strength. She's peerless in that regard, as there's no one who even comes close to her level of sustained accomplishment.

I can't even think of a male performer whose career is still flourishing like hers is, to as large an audience. Mickey Dolenz deserves a shout-out as the last Monkee, still working hard to honor the legacy built w/ his band mates. But while Mickey's always been a ridiculously talented & jovial performer, his is more of a niche fan club, based mainly on the nostalgia of us old farts, lol. But he's the only guy I can think of whose music career has kept on going through each decade since the 60's. Can anyone here name some others? I'm sure there are some, but they don't pop into this old brain...so we can make this a trivia game! 😄

Cher is a True Queen, though... too kind to be mean, too emotionally secure to bash or be jealous of other gals. She's part of the Sisterhood of women who support one another, rather than constantly competing against or back-stabbing other chicks. That's part of her special brand of genius, too. It's why she's Still wowing crowds & selling out shows. It's ironic that All the folks who made fun of her Bob Mackie outfits & called her "tacky" decades ago are now either pushing up daisies or in nursing homes awaiting a diaper change. (Not trying to offend oldsters, as I'm one, too. Facts are what they are, that's all).

I do need to correct a statement above, though, as I thought of a peer whose career is also still thriving b/c of both her talent & her enormous decency! Cher & another "tacky" sweetheart w/ just the right amount of saltiness are Still Here, w/ more fans than ever. Long Live both Cher & Dolly, 2 glorious treasures who need no last names to be recognized. Kindness matters in Life, even for the rich & famous
