I remember my high school randomly decided to ban ripped jeans but the stores in the mall basically weren’t selling pants without holes in them anymore so the school decided to allow “patched” jeans. All of our moms sewed patches behind the rips so we could still show off our cool pants but also meet dress code. Silliest thing ever.

I ripped and splatter painted my jeans because my parents wouldn’t buy me already ripped ones and they lost their damn minds 😂 my mom thinks I was such a horrible kid, but I was an incredibly mild child, just was very determined when I wanted something because they were so strict about everything It created a child who found loop holes in everything. I “ran away” at 15 when they wouldn’t let me go to a concert a few hours away, they didn’t offer to take me or any kind of compromise so I took off while they were at work leaving a note saying I’d be back after the concert. I didn’t actually go to the concert just went to a near by friends house for the weekend because I understood going to the concert alone could be dangerous, I just wanted to piss them off since they never were willing to compromise.
