Trailer Collection for Nintendementia's 2015 Movie Review Schedule

47 videos • 160 views • by Nintendementia Alrighty, here's the playlist of trailers for Nintendementia's 2015 review line up, and in a few cases, the entire movie, since whoever worked advertising in those days apparently never got around to cutting a trailer. 2015 was the first complete year where I'd really "perfected" my format, and as such, it hasn't been modified much since then. But as far as the titles go, I did finally get around to some of the Universal classics that I'd been neglectin' up to that point. Even though I personally find sittin' through any movie made before 1950 to be a little painful. I never have understood the kinda people who wanna watch The Wolf Man every Halloween when they could be watchin' A Nightmare on Elm Street, but then I don't understand a lotta things, like; how anybody could've ever thought John Travola looked cool in Saturday Night Fever, or women. And in that same vein, 11 of these titles actually came out prior to the 1970s, which, if you've been payin' attention, you know is the point in cinematic history where any given movie had the opportunity to reach its maximum potential. This is due to a number of things, includin' the censorship board finally startin' to get offa the backs of the movie makers (they climbed back on for a lot of the '80s, unfortunately), and various advancements in the art of practical special effects, which you also prolly already realize is an art form that's been systematically flushed down the toilet startin' in about 1997. But the point is, I'm TRYIN' to get outta my comfort zone a little and review older flicks for the folks who enjoy 'em. The only other thing I'd mention for 2015 came right at the end, when I started my countdown to 200 reviews, and the theme I chose for this countdown/tribute was titles that'd been banned in Britain back in the early '80s as part of the "Video Nasties" craze. It's kinda funny when you think about it, but the asinine reasoning skills those Nazis used to censor certain types of flicks is actually more entertaining than a lot of the movies are. They'd straight up ban a flick for havin' one "socially irredeemable" sequence in it, while lettin' other movies with much nastier stuff slip through. Sometimes they'd ban a movie just because of its title, which made sense some of the time, but other times they'd end up bannin' something you could literally take home to mama. The point is, those holier-than-thou hypocrites couldn't find their asses with both hands and an anatomical chart, so I went ahead and gave 'em the ole middle finger salute, even though it was 20 something years too late. Did the best I could to kinda spread the Video Nasties around amongst titles from different eras, from different countries, and from different subgenres, even though that wasn't always easy due to the piss-poor excuse for a system bein' used to persecute said cinema. But the titles I went with in 2015 (the rest of the tribute spilled over into 2016) were: Blood Feast, The Last House on the Left, and Flesh for Frankenstein, aka Andy Warhol's Frankenstein. Ultimately, I'm generally happy with the reviews written this year, so if you still think they stink, you might as well abandon hope for me now. If you're interested in readin' about these classic horror/science fiction/fantasy type movies, the reviews're all up on my website, which is: http://nintendementia.com/ You can also like the Facebook page to see what's next in the queue, and get updates about when new reviews go up.
