In a time when people of faith have been deprived of sung mass, places of worship have been largely silent and musicians have suffered greatly from being unable to perform, we invite you to join some of the country’s leading choirs, soloists and orchestral players as they bring music, liturgy and buildings back to life through Bach’s stunning B Minor Mass, performed as a series of virtual concerts during Eastertide. Episode 1 Healing Episode 2 Celebration Episode 3 Faith Episode 4 Hope The series was filmed and recorded on location in the Oxford Oratory, Westminster Cathedral, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, and in the homes of 64 singers from all over the country. Conducted by Tom Hammond-Davies, played on baroque instruments by the Oxford Bach Soloists, and featuring singers from Oxford Bach Soloists and The Choir of the Oxford Oratory (Director of Music: Rory Moules). Soloists: Sophie Bevan (soprano), Mary Bevan (soprano), Marta Fontanals-Simmons (mezzo soprano), William Purefoy (counter tenor), Nick Pritchard (tenor), Daniel Norman (tenor), Brindley Sherratt (bass), Stephan Loges (bass baritone), Matthew Truscott (violin), Anneke Scott (baroque horn), Yu-Wei Hu (flute) With guest appearances (recorded from their own homes) by the Schola Cantorum of Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, The Choir of the London Oratory, The Gesualdo Six, and Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Choir. As the piece unfolds we will also see a painting emerge — a collaboration by two ex- homeless artists at different stages in their lives, David Tovey and Mitchel Ceney.
