11 videos • 451 views • by Anthony Feyer Cardbored is a 4 piece guitar driven band with an edge. A fusion of psychedelia and punk with an emphasis on both vocal melodies and musicianship. All 4 members grew up in New York City at a time when the city was in a state of urban decay and had a great music scene dominated by the Ramones, Television, Talking Heads and venues like CBGB's and Max's Kansas City. We don't allow trends to influence our sound & have made a conscious effort not to allow our influences to dictate our song writing. Instead we use it as inspiration to achieve a level of musicianship and technique that is becoming increasingly difficult to find with the automation of sampling and the hands off approach to music making. Band members from other bands we perform with and recent new fans of Cardbored often comment how unexpected they were to hear 4 guys playing contemporary sounding original material with such unbridled passion, intensity, and dynamic composition; all without the use of computer assisted loops or backing tracks. In addition, our lead guitar player - Anthony Feyer - is also a visual effects animator so we emphasize video in both short form and long form as projection.
