Jake Travis and Gil Cang's Tuff Scout label has built a serious reputation over the last couple of years with a run of excellent roots productions on 7" and 10" featuring a variety of singers and chanters, both veteran and new talent. Now they unleash their first LP - not counting the re-ssue of Sword Of Jah Mouth - and it is a dub set in the grand tradition. Mixed by Gil and Deemus, this will be a well received by the new dub crowd and should not go overlooked by those who cling to the old school classics. Truly tuff! The two selections should give you an idea of how old-school reggae may sound in the 21st century. All tracks are selected and mixed by myself.
