Full "Little Giants" film of 1987 Uefa Cup Final (Dundee United v IFK Goteborg)
4 videos • 76 views • by negba It is now thirty years since I filmed this game between Dundee United and IFK Goteborg in 1987. It is a unique film in many ways. It was recorded on super8 film at a time when supporters did not make such recordings are make such films. It lay completed and almost lost for almost twenty years. Researching this film and films similar, I have only found one Forza Bastia filmed by Jacque Tati in 1978. Since 2007 when I uploaded it to YouTube it has developed a life of its own. Hundreds of thousands of views later and excerpts being used by Dundee United for a DVD for a 20 year marking of that final in 2007. In 2017 excerpts are due to be included in a BBC Alba /Purple TV film marking thirty years since the final and the making of Little Giants. My film is a personal record of a time and place, where football, people and society mixed in a unique manner. Now gone.
