Practicing Piano 60 Minutes a Day for 60 Days 🎹
15 videos • 45 views • by Chris Puckett Welcome to my journey of practicing piano for 60 minutes a day over 60 days. As a bass player (electric and upright), my goal isn't to become a virtuoso pianist but to improve enough to accompany musicians, especially in jazz. I want to understand harmony better, play nice-sounding voicings, and keep time. This series is for educational purposes. I'll be focusing on reading chords from lead sheets and playing them proficiently. One of my hopes is to get good enough at piano to accompany future students, as I aim to teach music at the collegiate level. Originally, I thought about doing "30 minutes of piano a day for 30 days," but I decided to challenge myself more to see greater results. I'm not entirely a beginner since I took piano courses during my bachelor's and master's studies at East Carolina University. However, I feel I didn't explore piano enough back then. Recording myself and posting these videos does put me under pressure and helps me to maintain consistency all while making content. I am excited to see the results of my piano proficiency each day that I practice. Thanks for watching. Feel free to leave a comment with any suggestions or tips.
