Waves & Instabilities on Fluid Interfaces
7 videos • 0 views • by IFCPAR/ CEFIPRA Waves on fluid interfaces and their stability, apart from stoking human curiosity since the ancient era, have also served as an important source of applications towards modern engineering, ranging from atomisation at capillary scales to being a source of clean energy from the oceans. Ocean waves, in particular, have constantly inspired the engineering of devices which can harness the apparently perennial supply of wave power in the ocean, to other useful forms of energy. The aim of this workshop was to bring together top-level, well known scientists of international calibre from France & India, to discuss and present fundamental advances in the theory of waves, hydrodynamic instabilities and computational methods related to these. The seminar will foster significant cooperation between scientists in both countries around this specific area of research. This will lead to knowledge advancement as well as exchange of skilled scientists between the two countries.
