He is described as a " world fusion and ambient jazz musician." To me, his music has elements of Spanish flamenco music as well as Arabic music stemming from the days of occupation of this area of Spain by the Moors. About Catalan and Catalonia: Catalonia (Catalunya) refers to an ancient ethnic, cultural and geographical area, where a principal language spoken was Catalan. Most of Catalonia is in Spain, with Barcelona as its capital. However, a northern portion of Catalonia is in present day France, now called the Roussillon area, and also known as French Catalonia or Northern Catalonia (Nord Latalunya). Most of the area is roughly confined in the French department of Pyrénées-Orientales. The city Perpignan is the capital of the Pyrénées-Orientales department. Perpignan was the capital of the former province and county of Roussillon (Rosselló in Catalan), also known as Northern Catalonia. [Sources: principally Wikipedia]
