Steel Overture is a fresh, brilliant, and spectacular overture, perfect for a great concert opening or an impressive closing. A work that musicians and any type of audience will enjoy. Steel Overture is commissioned by the Tata Steel Orchestra in The Netherlands, on the occasion of its 80th anniversary, being its conductor Erik Janssen, a band belonging to the important steel factory. The intention of the commission was to motivate the musicians of this band with fresh, brilliant, and spectacular music in their first concert after a time without musical activity due to COVID‐19. This brilliant overture is built from the notes taken from the STEEL title word: S (Eb) T (B natural) E (E x2 = long) L (La‐A). The work begins with the notes of the STEEL motif that will give way to the heroic theme interpreted by the trumpets and horns. Then the central theme will appear that represents the union, in the distance, of all the musicians during the months in which they were separated without being able to play together. Next, a section with frenetic rhythms and great strength simulates the power of steel during the forging processes, which will lead us to a fast-paced ending full of intensity that will culminate this fantastic overture by José Alberto Pina.
