These mechanics include money, tokens, consumable items, health, mana and action points, materials - essentially things that can be spent in some way, or items that can be destroyed on use, or destroyed after several uses. As well as general principles for all of these mechanics, special focus is given to money and in-game currencies and economies, with design thoughts, comparison with real-world money systems, and an exploration of the topic of perception of worth.
