Persona 4 Golden - playthrough (no commentary, NG+, very hard, no skills, ironman)
195 videos • 59 views • by Fins FinsT This is a NG+ playthrough in Very Hard mode, in which: - no skill usage in combat is allowed (other than "tutorial" boss - Shadow Yosuke); - no escape from fights is allowed (so beat every fight or die trying, immunities or not); - no backtracking to earlier dungeons nor dungeon floors for "grinding" (golden hands, chests, etc), with reasonable exceptions*; - no equipment bought from Daidara, again with a reasonable exception**. * except when forced by the game to go back couple floors in one of dungeons to progress the game; * also except when revisiting dungeons' last floor to beat a new boss spawning there; * and after reaching main character level 91, after which point i'll allow myself to go to earlier dungeons to grind the Reaper, quest items (many quests won't be completed with just one go through a dungeon), and possibly other certain loot and/or golden hands (for EXP). It'd be not fun to entirely cut myself off those things, but getting to level 91 1st looks like a worthy challenge to "unlock" myself the luxury of grinding for more stuff. ** except, again, after i'd reach level 91 for main character (and _if_ i would), as it would be sad to completely cut myself out of all the equipment from Daidara for the whole NG+. P.S. There's also in-RP reason for this style. Remember how everyone is so much ashamed of their shadow parts when you rescue 'em? Well those parts become their personas. So why, exactly, all the guys are happily flashing those personas around once they get to control 'em? Because anytime we use any "skill" - their personas come out. Should not they _still_ be ashamed and try to actually keep 'em personas inside, rather than letting 'em go out and do all those fancy "skills" in combat? And even more, the game itself - well one of its "TV programs" - advices this, quote: "The Persona, then, is the denial of the will to 'live as your true self'" (c) Mr. Edogawa. This is how "no skills" playthrough actually has in-RP sense, in the game. :)
