Vultures of Acton, MA

120 videos • 237 views • by Rebecca Harvey I have been watching a Vulture nest discovered by my friend's Dog. The male and female Vulture are indistinguishable. They change places every day to share nest and foraging duty. When relief comes the emerging Vulture always does a lot of wing stretching after sitting for many hours in a cramped position (huge bird nesting in ledge rock crevasse). When the mate returns to exchange places you can hear little greeting vocalizations. When the large bird flies away you can hear the loud sound of them beating their huge wings. Stay tuned. Lots of videos to come. Gestation is 5 weeks. I think things are going to change soon. Most of these are not included in my main playlist because I am being less selective. Update: 20240511: The vultures are back for a second season.
