Early Home Recordings (Teenage Artistic Musings of a Wannabe Rock Keyboardist)

36 videos • 546 views • by Bill Blair The recordings I've uploaded here are from the early days of my musical career, when all I really had to play with was my dad's piano, and a few musical toys I either made myself or came across on the cheap (although some of the pieces I actually recorded a little later on into the '80s, when I had a bit more gear). They were rescued from old cassette tapes and digitized, mostly during the lockdown of 2020 (when I also had a bit of time on my hands to spend scanning in all the old manuscripts that they were made from). There's a bit of a crossover in terms of timeline with the "Solo Work" playlist, but these are largely all recorded directly to cassette (with the exception of a couple of later works which, although recorded using a four-track and a synth, were nevertheless written earlier). They're unpolished, rough, and musically primitive, but I've uploaded them as part of my quest to "digitize the past". Please don't judge them too harshly - I've already done that myself :-)
