AZ Cardinals Read Across America

5 videos • 10 views • by Valley of the Sun United Way The Arizona Cardinals are joining the National Education Association's “Read Across America” program by participating in a virtual reading presentation with Arizona schools on Tuesday, March 2. The presentation is available to nearly 750,000 students between the ages 4-10 in more than 1,800 Arizona elementary schools. It features Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, offensive lineman Mason Cole, running back Chase Edmonds, linebacker Dennis Gardeck and defensive lineman Corey Peters reading books by beloved children’s author Dr. Suess. The annual nationwide campaign, which kicks off National Reading Month in March, aims to promote literacy among children and coincides with what would have been Dr. Suess’ 117th birthday (March 2). Research indicates that students who are proficient readers by the end of third grade are four times more likely to graduate high school, making early childhood literacy a critical educational milestone.
