The day was commemorating the centenary of the first troop train to leave central Victoria in World War One. Hauled by locomotives D3 639 (on loan from Steamrail Victoria) and J515 (on loan from the Seymour Railway Heritage Center) the train docked flags and banners. The day consisted of Military re-enactments, brass bands and contests for best dressed in the Edwardian Era. A plaque was unveiled at both Castlemaine and Maldon railway stations commemorating the historic event. Victorian Goldfields Railway Website: http://www.vgr.com.au/
