Automatic Transmission: How to Service

2 videos • 68 views • by Southpaw Autoworks See what's involved with servicing an automatic transmission. Many transmissions are equipped with replaceable filters. However, many (if not all) require opening up the transmission (by removing an oil pan), in order to gain access to the filter. Removing the oil pan allows one to perform a health check-up on the trans. If there's a problem (or a future problem), there will be evidence that has settled to the bottom of the oil pan. With this series, we hope to shed light on what's involved with an automatic transmission service. Armed with this knowledge, you'll be able to make informed decisions with your automatic transmission....whether you attempt to service the transmission yourself, or hire a professional. As with most things in life, the seemingly tiniest of details can make the difference between success and failure. We aim (but make no guarantee) to touch on each of the potential setbacks, with each of these videos. Thank you for your interest in this topic. We're very excited that you're here. -Robert
