Lan has graduated from school and now at a university studying to become a professor like his father. He made a blue print for the his project called the X upgrade for Megaman to become a new type navi with limitless potential. Suddenly, a mysterious hacker leaked his project and used it for his own gain making 2 Navis. However, things didn't turn out well. Both Navis created their own empire called the S Force and the V Force made with viruses they upgraded and corrupted Navis also known as Mavericks and have their own deadly rivalry on who can conquer the net first. It's up to Megaman and Lan along with their friends and team mates to stop the war of the S Force and V Force and restore the net to the way it was.
