We decided to let the world hear the unreleased music from this group that was setting the underground New York rap scene on fire in the late 1990's. Produced by the legendary Arkatech Beatz p/k/a Infinite Arkatechz (Big Pun/Nas/Prodigy/Raekwon/Jadakiss etc) Pressure started recording at age 15 in 1996, and Araphat 17. We wanted the playlist to start with their earliest recordings, so you can hear their growth musically. After being featured in the 1999 Unsigned Hype for the Source, the group was in a development deal with Loud Records. Unfortunately Loud Records folded shortly after 2001 and the group landed on Sony. At the time Sony didn't do well with this type of hip-hop and the duo was showcased for Lyor for Def-Jam. While there was initial interest, we couldn't get them to see the vision at the time. The group eventually split in 2005. People have been asking us for years about the group and the recordings, and we felt now would be the best time to release as hip-hop has really taken a turn.
