Quake Battle vs. Notch with Mojang
4 videos • 7,668 views • by Team Avolition When Notch found out Dylan was responsible for pirating Minecraft, he sent Dylan an email threatening legal action. Dylan panicked and asked us for help. We wrote a response on Dylan's behalf saying he would take the piracy website down, but we wished to challenge Mojang in Quake for capes in Minecraft if we won. Notch, who realized this was a reference to his ongoing legal dispute with Bethesda over the rights to the name "Scrolls," thought it was hilarious. He dropped the legal threat and agreed to the Quake match... with a catch. If we lost the match, we had to produce a dubstep song in his honor. The event was livestreamed and widely publicized by both sides. We lost, but in the end, Minecraft players were horrified by the sight of Notch and Mojang playing games with notorious hackers of their game.
