The genre of the soundtrack is a subgenre of techno music known as 'trance.' The OST was released in 2002; a year after the game's release date, and is different from the music heard ingame. This game was also released on the XBOX 360 in 2008 under the title, "Rez HD," and on the PS4 (Optimized for PSVR) in 2016 under the title, "Rez Infinite." It is a great shooter! I recommend you give it a try. The music makes it even better.
