The Wig - Complete: Live at the Jade Room +
15 videos • 659 views • by Anastasia Walker The Wig were mid-'60s faves in Austin, Texas. Originally including future members of the Steve Miller Band and Mother Earth, the band grew into a hot live attraction with this cohort of players, led by lead singer/drummer Rusty Wier and guitarist Benny Rowe. They released only two singles on local labels in their time, one of which, "Crackin' up," appeared on the first volume of the 'Pebbles' series. In 1983, an archival LP was released that included two early versions of the second single, an unreleased single, two recordings by a post-Wig group, and a half dozen high-energy live performances from Austin's Jade Room, which are the collection's highlight. This playlist includes all the tracks from the archival LP, slightly rearranged, and adds all four sides of the group's two singles -- the complete Wig!
