SEBA CAMPOS: «UPAHL» (2020)
5 videos • 38 views • by Dimitris Moraitis SEBA CAMPOS Sebastián Campos Schwermann was born in Santiago de Chile. He moved to Essen, Germany in 2008 at the age of 19 and started making music professionally. In 2013 he founded Banda Senderos; a successful live band that (mainly) tours through Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. During quarantine, he was able to concentrate on solo productions, he had started some time ago. The result is a colorful mixture of his South American roots and the influence of the electronic music scene in Germany. The Essen-based producer and DJ Timboletti mixed the tracks and they were well received by Acker Records, the label of the famous 3000 Grad Festival. The release of these productions took place on August 14th 2020 as an EP with three original songs plus one remix by the DJ and producer Mollono.Bass. EP «UPAHL» Seba Campos serves up a generous dose of sun-drenched, Latin American flavoured grooves. The stimulation of their tropical elements flows through the body and the mind with a momentum that is reminiscent of the various layers of a cocktail dancing upon one another, surrounded by the sparkling beads of water on the glass around them. Just like in this cocktail analogy all different elements are equally important and they multiply into one exhilarating experience: The vocal in Amiki Miñongo is just as compelling as the drums played by the percussionist of Die Fantastischen Vier and Calvimetro, the lively guitar chords in Canto Al Sol are just as stimulating as the downbeat bassline, the weightless echoes in Pájaros are as catchy as the vigorous rhythms of this track. Such a versatile and international kind of sound makes Mollono.Bass an obvious choice for the complementary remix, which he built around a dubby, percussive vibe. Track Amiki Miñongo: Eduardo Duquesne – Vocals, Roland Peil – Percussion, Krischan Frehse – Bass, Bruno Müller – Guitar, Michael Teissing Tegeler – Trombon, Xaver Fischer – Keys, Matthias Schriefl - Trumpet
