SASH! - TRILENIUM [Japan]

The irony of a song such as "Hallelujah" may go over your head--after all can you really take a track seriously whose gospel chorus proclaims, "Thank you for mobile phones, perfect skin, faster food, remote controls, aspirin"? The track "Le Soleil Noir" complete with samples of spoken French, is almost a remake of his 1998 hit "La Primavera". However there's also purely instrumental compositions such as the title track, "Trilenium", which sounds like Les Rythmes Digitales meets Dario G. On "Tell Me Now", using the vocals of Ca$h, Sash! also makes some tentative steps into the world of soul. Anyone wanting a rewarding introduction should check out this album.
