When I asked to learn violin, in 1954, it was arranged for me; when I asked for a guitar for my 13th birthday in 1959, my dad duly took me to Watford, and it was bought. Once I was a player, I met a basket full of wonderful, funny, creative people, without having to court their attention: it just seemed to happen that we would make music together. The Scaffold, the Bonzos, theatre & TV jobs, Pink Floyd, movie scores, and many other gigs just fell into my lap, and became part of the fabric of my life. I’m not financially rich, but I have a lovely family, a house that I own, and a life which I treasure. And I could have been a lawyer. Lucky me." I strongly recommend visiting Andy's website www.andyrobertsmusic.com for much more detail. These people have influenced Andy directly and indirectly: The Traverse Theatre Club, Owen Hand, Hamish Imlach Stafford Clark, Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan.
