Behind the scenes, the IBEW electrical workers union has joined with the Contractors Assn. to position themselves to participate in the key techology of the 21st Century -- clean energy. IBEW is convinced that jobs and the environment go together, and this trek, from some rather quaint installations to the union hall, sort of is the hope of America: that from a past of energy waste, we can forge a future of clean technology, living-wage jobs, and valuable skilled workforce. More than a tour of solar, it's a tour into the future, we hope.
