7 videos • 485 views • by Vincenzo Callea Flanders are Francesco Abbate and Alessandro Bunetto (DJs), Marco Giudice (Bass) and Giuliana Fraglica (Vocals), a young and eclectic elettronica/indie pop band who hails from Sicily in South of Italy. They joined together with DJ/Producer Vincenzo Callea back in 2005 with the aim to produce quality dance music inspired by their favourite artists Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps and Jony Mitchel. The band debut single for Ego By My Side caused a huge stir in the Billboard, DMC Update and Music Week Club and Mainstream Charts where hitting the number 1 spot, and received plays from Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 as well as absolutely huge support from the likes of Roger Sanchez, David Morales and Michael Grey. However it was their second single Behind that made both the most influential DJs and the major industry publications alike sit up and take notice. As well as hitting the Buzz Chart, the Cool Cuts Chart and the European Global Dance Traxx, Flanders found themselves lodged firmly at the number 1 in the Billboard Hot Airplay Dance Chart for several weeks in a row, followed by acts such as Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Pink! and Madonna. This massive track received more than one and a half million plays on MySpace in just a short period of time, and was released Worldwide on labels such as Ultra, Kontor, N.E.W.S. and of course Ego. More recently, ATB did an exclusive remix of Behind, which has been featured on his new Future Memories Album, and also released as the first single. Time is the brand new single from Flanders for Ego. This takes up from where Behind left off, and its really shaping up to be another major release for the band. The original Callea Classic Mix brings out the more commercial elements, complete with euphoric vocal breakdown and twitchy synth riffs and piano pads. This is a bit Madonna in its approach but its got a certain charm and for sure will have no trouble finding room on larger floors. The package comes complete with a brilliant Remix and Dub Mix courtesy of Redanka whose Remix of Ill Go Crazy If I Dont Go Crazy Tonight by U2 has been reworked by the band themselves for inclusion in the set of their 360° World Tour. His mixes are really reminiscent of the spirit of the early 90s progressive house, with swirling chords, soaring strings and more than a touch of class accentuating the infectious vocal melody. This is anthemic end epic indeed! Next its the turn of Ministry Of Sound resident and Toolroom Knight Richard Dinsdale, who delivers the most dancefloor mix of the package and possibly his finest mix to date! A peak time juggernaut of a remix full of skittering drums, distorted vocals, and a devastatingly simple groove Modern techno at its best! For immediate dancefloor impact, a more stripped down Dub Mix is also enclosed. To round off a tasty little package with a mix for all floors, Billions Dollars Dogs whose recent remake of the Jam & Spoon classic Ride In The Night received plays from Ferry Corsten and Tiesto, gives the record a quality progressive house makeover, while Victor Palmez & ID fresh from their Remixes for Ultra (Chelley Took The Night) and AATW, beef up the beats for the larger floors, with a hooked on house rework with catchy effects and melodic blends of progressive. And as if it wasnt enough, also enclosed on this very exclusive promo are an alternative 2097 Radio Edit by Callea which is reminiscent of Air and Royksopp classic moments, and the original Album Mix from Flanders themselves. All in one, MORE than a bit special package!
