Machine embroidery can feel daunting to a beginner, but once you get past the initial set-up and uploading of your chosen embroidery design, the actual embroidery part not only a piece of cake, but very satisfying to watch as it stitches out - you'll love it! If you happen to be a Mac user, and are having a hard time finding the right embroidery software, you will see in my tutorials that I have chosen Embrilliance Essential Embroidery software. Finding user-friendly embroidery software for Mac can be a bit difficult, as there aren't many out available yet, but Embrilliance has many great features and options you can see on my video, "Embrilliance Embroidery Software for Mac: Intro to Features and Options". From your initial embroidery setup to doing your first machine embroidery project, I'll walk you through easy-to-understand steps to help you quickly get started with embroidery. When I started out with machine embroidery, I was surprised to learn that there are so many different types of machine embroidery. I discovered free standing lace embroidery, which is a dense embroidery that is finished on both top and bottom, and basically creates a lace or motif that stands on it's own, without being sewin to a fabric. How great is that? I have also discoverd Redwork, which is basically outline embroidery done in red thread, without any filling stitches. Red thread was used, because the color didn't run like other colors. Redwork embroidery has an early history of being used in thin quilts that didn't have a filler(as in batting). Another type of embroidery would be free motion embroidery that allows for complete creative control, by sewing a design in a free motion movement without a hoop. Applique is also done in an embroidery fashion, and using a technique know as "in the hoop embroidery". As you can imagine, embroidery started by hand, until technology in sewing machines provides a faster way to to embellish our garments, and home decor with machine embroidery. Today, embroidery sewing machines are extremely technical, and feature heavy. You can create almost anything you can imagine, once you learn how to use one of these amazing embroidery machines. Embroidery designs are fascinating, and the people that digitize designs for embroidery have amazing talent. Design choices on the internet are unlimited, from the simplest "stick man" to a highly intensive 3D design. We will show you the basics on our YouTube Channel, and try to anwer any questions that you may have regarding machine embroidery, or any of our tutorials. Monogramming is another aspect of machine embroidery, and there are tons of monogram designs and fonts available for monogramming. I have not done mongramming yet, but will be giving it a try soon, and will be able to share my results on our Channel. Machine embroidery is more creative than people think. It's not just sitting at the machine and pushing a button, and letting the machine do ALL the work. There are many ways to customize arrangement, size, color, and merge designs together.
