Born in 2004, Louise Hapton is a French writer and contemporary artist based in London. She is currently studying Fine Art (BA) at the University of Westminster and is represented by Agence BeYou Paris.
Louise is a black (Caribbean), queer, and neurodivergent artist exploring her own issues with a brush and clay.
Her work focuses on turning the inside out. Her first paintings represented her chronic hallucinations of menacing eyes, toothy mouths and crawling hands. Later, in 2023, Louise discovered the art of ceramics and fell in love with the feel of clay. Now orienting herself towards sculpture, installation and performance, she explores themes such as "Kawaii (cute) and Kowai (Creepy)" and social issues while staying loyal to her primary interest: the fault in her brain chemistry.
On this channel, you will discover Louise Hapton's artwork and process through short films, performances, installations and ceramic tutorials.
