The older I get, the more I realize that life must be lived intentionally, or it slips away. "Carpe Diem" (seize the day) was left by someone who realized this. Such similar quotes in life are left as a warning or a beckoning.
A warning from the past that says "Don't make the same mistakes I did." A beckoning that calls "Come on in boys! The water's fine!!!"
My prayer is that we live the rest of our lives with intention and purpose. That we teach the past (Not the Politically Correct/ Popular Culture versions) but the raw, unfiltered past so our chi children can make informed decisions for themselves.
Books like "The Crisis Caraven" by Linda Pullman or "Black Rednecks and White Liberals" by Thomas Sowell should be read by us and our children. Robert A Heinemann in the books "Starship Troopers" and "Citizen of the Galaxy"
We should teach our children to think critically for themselves. They learn best from examples. Let us re-teach ourselves for their sake.
