The definition of bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Simply describing if you hurt someone (intentionally) multiple times, some could say everydayâ throughout a week even.
The thing Iâd like to point out; somthing Iâd like you to remember is that bullying happens multiple times.
Almost everyday.
Now imagine how someone whoâs been through years of bullying trauma, to see people/furries/therians/anyone who does something out of the normal under the age of 14 saying theyâre being âbulliedâ, after they get a couple hate comments.
hate comments such as, âcringeâ, âhunting seasonâ, âfurryâ; âfatherlassâ, âewâ etc.
now I understand how this can make people feel sad/angry/ and typically feel negative about your self, but that is not a excuse call it such. The definition of cyberbullying (where most of this is happening) says the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. So basically youâre trying to hurt someone purposefully multiple times, online. Although people say that cyberbullying means just one time of (letâs say) hate comments, it is NOT the case. It makes me so mad when people say that âI got my first hate comment!! I hate being bullied.. :,)â Please do educate yourself before speaking up about a SERIOUS matter, because this is incorrect.
Back to 12 year olds with a TikTok/YouTube account:
If this is only happening on one video, (hate comments) and you make another with no one else making commentsâ that is NOT bullying.
Say you make another video, and someone from the past video is targeting you and commenting more stuff that is indecentâ THAT is bullying (if itâs happening 2-3 times/if itâs spam.)
ALTHOUGH!!! if someone is making death threats, (ex. âKys!â âSlit your throat/Iâll slit your throat.â âIâm gonna kill you!â ((Cringe is not a death threat.))
You should tell someone. Death threats ARE illegal (in Canada, for me), so if the same person/anyone is making threats against you can get them arrested. Please tell your parents/guardian about threats, for your own safety. For the children who arenât educated đ¤¤.)
Back to IRL bullying, like physical and emotional bullying.
Letâs say you choose to wear your therian gear to school for the first time, and a large group of people saw you doing quadrobics. 1 out of the 12 people in that group see you in the hallway and go âwoof woof! Furry!â
That same person and a couple others do similar things other the course of the rest of the school year. Although only a few times per month, this may make you feel bad and you might hate it. You are able to tell someone about it and see if it can stop somehow, but it is NOT bullying.
Although đđŽđ˝âđź say youâre in the same situation, you brought your gear to school for the first time and a group sees you wearing it or doing quadrobics. They laugh at you, and walk away.
In the hallway one person goes âwoof woof! Furry!â
It makes you feel bad but itâs not that bad.
The next day, the same person with a few others say something I little bit worse. âFatherless!! Fuss furries!!â
When stuff like this gets worse and worse everyday, THAT is bullying.
If you are getting bullied please speak to someone, it is very hard to do but trust me you can.
If youâre getting called cringe once in a while, please shut up. (Respectfully.)
