Darren J. Lipomi is the department chair and professor of chemical engineering at University of Rochester. From 2012-2024, he was a professor in the Department of Chemical and Nano Engineering at UC San Diego, where he also served as Associate Dean for Students. He earned his PhD in chemistry from Harvard University in 2010 (with George Whitesides) and was an Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Stanford University from 2010-2012 (with Zhenan Bao).
