As BBC TV have decided not to continue with our great football comedy show, the producers (Caboom/Blue Elf) are in active negotiations for a new worldwide home for our beloved show - keep checking back here or on The official special1 tv Facebook group and hopefully there will be some news in the next couple of weeks.
END of SEASON 2011/12
THE STORY SO FAR......
Special1TV started out & evolved from the show "I'm on setanta sports" on the now defunct Setanta sports network. (now a single channel only The show was originally produced in order to promote Setanta around the globe & became a cult viral hit & In fact Setanta's most watched show, outshining it's sports coverage & becoming it's most talked about & successful show.he shows succsess lead setanta to try & cash in by re-naming the show Special1 TV & thus enabling them to sell sponsorship on the front & back end of the show.
This transition came half way through the second season & was also handled by Setanta & the shows Dynamic forward thinking production company (Caboom/Blue elf ).
It was very suddenly announced that Jose was ending his show, a decision that caused an outcry from fans around the world along with this youtube channels Director who could not understand the perceived logic of ending Setanta's most popular entity.
However after the final episode of IOSS broadcast the next week, Jose was back to say goodbye to his show but at the end he mentioned to The Boy Wayne That things were not always how they seemed & the show closed with the camera panning to the frosted glass window of the shows office where the name SPECIAL1 TV was seen to be painted on the door.
The next week the show returned much to the relief of fans, with Jose proclaiming that the whole incident had been a ruse & that he was "Ruse Champion"'
Unfortunately the jubilation was to be short lived as setanta was insolvent (One of the major reasons for re-branding to raise sponsorship money) & so the party was over - Or so we thought.
Fast forward to the world cup in 2010 & the announcement from BBC TV that SPECIAL1 TV was to be a part of it's world cup coverage.
This was welcomed by fans & the football community at large, although the euphoria soon died down when the BBC seemed to push the show towards having many more non footballing celebrity's involved in each episode.
