The members of Delojaan have been playing music inspired by mystical Persian sufi music for many years.
Delojaan were formed in 2015 (under the name of The Sydney Sufi Ensemble), to expand on this repertoire, exploring original settings of the poetry of Rumi, Hafez, and contemporary sufi poets. Their focus has been on maintaining a faithfulness to the traditional Persian sufi musical forms and spiritual direction, while incorporating instrumentation and aspects of world music.
Since then, Delojaan have performed regularly in many charity events in Sydney, Australia.
