I'm excited to announce I've started a second YouTube channel, ‪@Since1954Podcast‬ ! I'm starting it because I've always wanted to do a pure, audio only podcast, and at 70, I better get to it!

I love listening to podcasts, and even though mine will have video of me talking, it's really designed to listen to on your phone while you walk the dog, or drive to work, etc, without having to watch the screen. Theatre of the mind, if you will.

It also will give me a chance to go off on deeper dives and tangents that I wind up having to cut in my videos here. For example, my first episode at ‪@Since1954Podcast‬ is a deeper dive discussion with myself about Lego Mini-Dolls. I went on for fifteen minutes in the video I made here this week, LOL. Too long!

In addition, ‪@Since1954Podcast‬ will give me a chance to discuss topics that are not Lego, but raise the level of joy in my life--just like Lego does! I'll of course still be producing Lego content here, but when I go off on a tangent in one of my Lego vids here that I wind up cutting (haha,--I like to talk!) I can discuss those tangents over there at ‪@Since1954Podcast‬

I guess the best way is to show you, so here's a link to the first episode below. Remember it's designed mainly to be listened to, (as opposed to here, where I include lots of B roll and try and make it the best viewing experience I can). I hope you enjoy it and will consider subscribing.‪@Since1954Podcast‬ Cheers!

Thanks to all of you, this little channel has over 1k subscribers! Thank you, thank you for all your support. I've made an extra video this week reflecting on my philosophy of the power of authentic play as a kind of thank you. I hope you enjoy it. Happy building!

I've had some questions about my facial hair (or lack thereof.) For about twenty years now I've done a holiday reenactment of Dickens' Reading Tours of Christmas Carol. It requires clean shaving for the application of Mr Dickens' facial hair. After all that spirit gum I'm pretty raw and my skin needs to take a break. So, I usually grow back the beard to full so I can pretend I'm George Bernard Shaw for a bit. Eventually I tire of that, and it gets shaved down to a goatee, where it remains until November, when the cycle repeats. :-) So, a glimpse into my other life as an actor, and (boo-hoo) the hardships we must endure for the sake of art! :-)

It's hard to believe that in a month or so from the start of my Lego journey, I've learned so much and this channel has grown so much as well! 575 subscribers is pretty crazy :-) Thank you for your support. This weekend I've been customizing some Dragon Knight figures from pieces I picked up at Bricks and Minifigs, with the help of some Ninjago parts. Here's a little battle back with a faction Wizard, A Commander, a crossbow archer and two ground troops. Too much fun!

I want to thank everyone for your overwhelmingly positive comments! Proof that the Lego Community is the best, and that there is a place in it for everyone! Thank you for the encouragement!
