This channel is first and foremost dedicated to showcasing MÄori - our culture, our history, our heritage - and the unique wonders, talents and beautiful land of Aotearoa (New Zealand).
We also acknowledge and give an insight into our extended Polynesian whÄnau (family) across the Pacific Ocean, which include the indigenous people of: Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Niue, Cook Islands, Kiribati, French Polynesia, Pitcairn Islands, Tuvalu, Tokelau, Tahiti, Marquesas and Easter Island.
Polynesians share genetic, linguistic and common genealogy. Our ancestors were adept and spiritually attuned maritime voyagers that depended on the heavens to navigate the Pacific, both for trading purposes and survival from ecological disaster and extinction.
