Marcus Schössow and Thomas Sagstad have been planning, plotting and dreaming anamÄ for two decades. First coming together at a house party in Helsingborg, Sweden, the Swede and the Norwegian bonded over a shared love of artists (Sasha or early TiĂ«sto), labels (Strictly Rhythm, Defected), ethics (âWe both wanted to work hard for our dreamsâ) and ideas. As family life, academic studies, and new homes in different countries threatened to separate them, their old connection drew them back together.
In 2022, the anamÄ adventure began on Anjunabeats. The duo crafted an emotive collaboration with Above & Beyond and Marty Longstaff on âGratitudeâ, worked with BLR and Robbie Rise on club anthem âInfluencerâ, and reworked a pair of classics in Lostepâs âBurmaâ, and âTears From The Moonâ by Conjure One and SinĂ©ad OâConnor. Most recently, the pair remixed Kyanâs âLonely Riverâ alongside A&Bâs Paavo SiljamĂ€ki in his P.O.S guise, collaborating again with Paavo on âGood Peopleâ.
