Formed among friends in 2009, Newtown Radio is named after the toxic canal bordering Brooklyn and Queens, Newtown Creek is the most heavily polluted waterway in the United States, and a continual reminder of what lies beyond its oily river banks: Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick, Long Island City, and Ridgewood Queens - the creative capitol in NYC. We represent Brooklyn as a taste-making radio station capturing the great music that this community creates and enjoys.
