I'm a 27 year old American teacher and tutor originally from Odessa, Ukraine, who matriculated (adopted) to the States as a child. Over the years I've learned a great deal about what it means to be an outsider racial-ethnically, but also to be so immersed in bonds of friendship and love that'd you'd easily give yourself if the moment even necessitated. Now, I feel the odd, but formidable crossroads of life experiences in the extreme social turmoil of becoming someone so distinctly different from those I grew up with as a kid, as well as the profoundly extraordinary coming of age history that my life has evolved into.
Sure, I don't know what the future holds, but I'm no longer scared to travel this path alone, it is what I was born to do.
